On July 24, 2012, Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. recalled its Contours Options LT Tandem Strollers. The strollers are poorly constructed and pose multiple risks to children. The front wheel could break off, posing a falling hazard for the child or children in stroller. Also, the nuts that fasten the stroller’s basket support screws can easily come loose, and children can easily choke on the small detached part.

So far, there have been at least six reports of the strollers’ front wheels detaching. In addition, there have been at least two reports of the baskets’ support screws and nuts detaching. Luckily, the company has received no reports of child injury.

All Contours Options LT Tandem Strollers (model number ZT012) are included in this recall. These strollers were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, online, and in several specialty stores throughout the nation. You can find the model number on one of the rear legs of the stroller. Consumers have been advised to cease use of the strollers immediately. To receive a free repair kit and replacement wheel, contact Kolcraft Enterprises.
