March 9, 2012 – Harrison County, W.Va. – A man was confirmed dead in the hospital after being involved in a car accident in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 7.

WDTV reports that the accident happened at about 1 p.m. on Indian Run Road, in the Marshville area. The crash was reported after a driver saw a car that had crashed on the side of the road. The car apparently went off of the roadway and over an embankment before crashing into a tree.

The driver of the crashed car, Mark Allen Holt, 25, was still in the vehicle when officials arrived on the scene. Holt was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be serious head injuries. He later died in the hospital.

The cause of the accident remains to be determined. Authorities in the area are under the stages of investigation.
