ATV Accident Injures Man, Closes Route 50 in Doddridge County

March 19, 2012 – Doddridge County, W.Va. – A man was injured in an ATV crash that blocked part of Route 50 on Friday, March 16.

reports that the incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. Officials with the Doddridge County Sheriff’s Department said that a man was driving an ATV along his neighbor’s hillside, located on Wilhelm Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

The man was wounded in the incident. He was flown by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital immediately following the crash. The severity of his injuries is unknown at this time.

The man’s identity has not yet been revealed. He is said to be 67 years old.

Route 50 was blocked to traffic in the area of the accident for some time. The roadway has since been reopened. The crash is under ongoing investigation by local authorities.
