Woman Injured in 3-Vehicle Car Accident in Reynoldsville

June 30, 2011 - Reynoldsville, W.Va. - A 3-vehicle car accident sent a woman to the hospital Wednesday morning.

WBOY reports that the accident happened at about 8 a.m. on Route 50 in Reynoldsville. The woman was driving her GMC Jimmy eastbound on the roadway when a truck pulled into her lane and crashed into her vehicle. The GMC and the truck then collided with a third vehicle at the intersection of Route 50 and Fire Access Road.

The woman was injured in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her medical condition is unknown at this time.

The injured woman's identity has not yet been released. The identities of the other 2 drivers involved in the accident are also unknown.

The cause of the car accident remains to be determined as it is under ongoing investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
