West Virginia Parent Alert: Infantino Toy Activity Trucks Recalled

April 25, 2011 - According to a report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC), Infantino toy activity trucks are being recalled due to a choking hazard.

The name of the product is "Troy the Activity Truck" and it was sold at toy stores nationwide including Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us from September 2009 through February 2011 for about $15.

The truck is red, blue and yellow with a face on the front. Printed on the front of the truck is "Infantino." There is a switch that when turned on, will cause the back wheels to spin and music to play. The model numbers affected can be found on the bottom of the toy truck and include 506-110C, 206-110 and 153-210.

The activity trucks come with plastic beads in the shape of hearts and circles, which could detach from the bead runs found throughout the back of the truck. This poses a choking hazard to young children.

So far the importer/distributor, Infantino, has received 28 reports of the beads coming loose. This includes 2 reports where small children have gagged on the plastic beads.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the toy and to contact Infantino for a free replacement toy.
