Two Injured in Enterprise Motorcycle Accident Involving Car

May 20, 2011 - Harrison County, W.Va. - Two people were injured Thursday in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Enterprise.

WDTV reports that the Enterprise motorcycle accident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday on Route 19. According to police, the motorcycle was traveling southbound on the roadway when it went across the center line. The motorcycle collided with a northbound Buick in the opposite lane.

The motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle on impact. The injured motorcyclist had to be flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. There has been no word on the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries.

The driver of the Buick suffered a leg injury in the crash and was transported to Fairmont General Hospital for treatment.

The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.

The accident is under ongoing investigation. All further investigations are being handled by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
