Three-Vehicle Accident in Morgantown Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

April 22, 2011 - Morgantown, W.Va. - A three-vehicle accident left one woman dead and two other people injured Wednesday night.

WBOY reports that the accident in Morgantown happened shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Stewartstown Road and Route 705. A Pontiac was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection onto Stewartstown Road.

An oncoming Honda on Route 705 then t-boned the Pontiac. The Pontiac began to spin on impact, striking a third vehicle in the process.

Police troopers stated that the Pontiac had a green light, but did not have a green arrow.

One person was killed in the crash. Allison Crosby, 21, a passenger in the Pontiac, died on the scene.

Both the driver of the Pontiac and the driver of the Honda were injured in the crash. They were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The occupants of the third vehicle did not receive injuries in the accident.

State Police said that charges in connection with the accident are pending. The accident remains under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
