Possible Lead in Fatal Hit and Run Accident in Mon County

May 18, 2011 - Mon County, W. Va. - Police may have located the vehicle responsible for a fatal hit and run accident in Mon County that occurred over the weekend.

WDTV reports that a woman's body was found late Saturday night on National Church Hollow Road in Mon County. Police said it seemed that the woman had been struck by a car. The driver of the vehicle that struck her left the scene of the accident. Another driver found her later that night.

Susie Kinsley, 47, was pronounced dead at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She had been battling multiple sclerosis and a brain tumor.

State Police announced Tuesday that they have found the vehicle they believe was involved in the hit and run. The Ford F-150 is currently being tested as a match in connection with the accident.

The identity of the owner of the Ford F-150 had not yet been released. The accident remains under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
