My Michelle Girls Clothing Recalled Due to Lead Exposure Risk

April 25, 2011 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) reports that "My Michelle" girls clothing are being recalled due to lead exposure risk.

These girl tops and dresses were sold between Jan. 2011 and Mar. 2011 for about $38 at retail stores nationwide including JCPenney, Kohl's and Burlington Coat Factory.

The tops and dresses were sold in sizes ranging from small to extra large, and 7 to 16. These garments came in various styles with beaded necklaces attached to the tops and collars. Printed in pink on the back tag of the collar is "mymichelle."

The decorative trim and jewelry that is attached to these garments contain high levels of lead. When lead is ingested by young children it can lead to serious health risks. There have been no reports of illness or injury thus far.

Consumers should remove the product from children and contact the manufacturer, "My Michelle," for further information on how to receive a full refund.
