WSAZ states that the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Avenue and 10th Street West. Officials indicate that the man was walking along or across the roadway near the Go Mart convenience store when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The man was seriously injured in the accident. He had to be transported to a local hospital to seek medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained on the scene and has cooperated with Huntington Police. There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this crash.
The identities of the injured man and the driver have not yet been publically released at this time.
Officials with the Huntington Police Department are investigating.
