Man Injured When Truck Goes Into Ditch in Marion County, West Virginia

Marion County, W.Va. - A single-vehicle accident sent a man to the hospital Monday evening.

WDTV reports that the accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Monday evening on Pharaoh's Run Road in Rivesville, in Marion County. The man was driving his truck on the roadway when he evidently lost control of the vehicle.

Officials said the truck then ran off the road and into a ditch.

The man was injured in the accident. He was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown, though his injuries have been confirmed as not life-threatening.

The identity of the injured man is unknown at this time.

The truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident and there were no further injuries reported.

The cause of the accident remains to be determined. The accident is under ongoing investigation. All investigations are being handled by the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
