Man injured in Randolph County Motorcycle Crash

August 23, 2011 - Randolph County, W.Va. - A motorcycle accident sent a person to the hospital Saturday August, 20, according to a news report on WDTV.

The accident occurred at about 3 p.m. in the intersection where East Dailey Road and Pritt Lane meet. According to fire officials on the scene, a man lost control of his motorcycle in the intersection and crashed.

The man was injured in the accident, and required to be airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. The identity of the injured man has not yet been released.

From reports, the motorcycle seems to be the only vehicle involved and it was not carrying any other passengers. No additional injuries have been reported in connection with this accident. The cause of the accident remains to be determined while it is under further investigations by State Police.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
