WSAZ reports that the accident happened at about 4:20 p.m. on MacCorkle Avenue at DeCharms Street. Michael Scott, 55, of St. Albans, was riding his powered wheelchair westbound in the eastbound bicycle lane of MacCorkle Avenue at the time of the accident. A car pulled onto the roadway from DeCharms Street and struck Scott.
Scott sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to a local hospital to be medically treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The identity of the driver that struck Scott has not been released. There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this accident.
