Man Flown to Hospital After Mill Creek Motorcycle Crash

April 27, 2011 - Mill Creek, W.Va. - One person was injured Sunday evening when his motorcycle crashed in Randolph County.

WDTV reports that the Mill Creek motorcycle crash happened on Adolph Road. Sheriff's deputies said that Terrence Daniels was riding his motorcycle on the roadway when he evidently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash.

Daniels was injured in the crash and had to be transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital via helicopter. Officials said Daniels' injuries are serious.

According to deputies, Daniels was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Whether or not alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash remains to be determined. Police are awaiting toxicology reports.

The accident is under ongoing investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. Officials from Randolph County EMS and the Huttonsville and Mill Creek volunteer fire departments were also on the scene in response to the accident.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
