The Charleston Gazette reports that the incident happened at about 8:40 a.m., within the 5400 block of Sissonville Drive. An unknown number of cars collided at the Honaker Hollow Road intersection, in the middle of Tuppers Creek and Edens Fork.
Officials with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department did not say how many people were injured as a result of the accident. The severity of the injuries is also unknown, but the crash has been described as “serious.” The identities of those involved in the crash have not yet been released to the public.
Sissonville Drivewas blocked to traffic while emergency response crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes were reopened about 30 minutes later.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the cause.
