April 19, 2011 - Morgantown, W.Va. - One person was sent to the hospital Saturday morning following a single-vehicle accident on I-79 in Morgantown.
WBOY reports that the accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on I-79. According to deputies of the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, the driver of a flatbed truck nearly hit the median, swerved to avoid it and lost control of the vehicle. The truck then overturned, crashing through a guardrail.
There were 3 passengers in the truck at the time of the accident. One of the passengers was injured and had to be taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. That person's injuries have been described as non-life-threatening.
The flatbed truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident on I-79. There were no further injuries.
The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.
Officials from the Monongalia Sheriff's Department were on the scene in response to the crash.
