October 21, 2011 - Sherrard, W.Va. - A man was injured after a car crashed into him during the evening on Wednesday, October 19.
WBOY reports that the accident happened at about 6 p.m. on Route 88. The man was walking along or across the roadway when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Exact details of how the accident occurred are not yet available.
The man was injured in the accident. He was sent to Wheeling Medical Park for treatment, where he remains. There is no word on his medical condition at this time.
The injured man's identity has not yet been released. Officials did indicate that he is 54 years old. The identity of the driver that struck the man is also unknown.
Whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this accident remains to be determined. The accident is under ongoing investigation by local authorities.
