Car Crashes into Road Crew Truck on Interstate 79 Near Anmoore

August 24, 2010 - Clarksburg, W. VA - Parts of Interstate 79 South were shut down after a serious accident near the Anmoore exit on August 24^th.

Reports from WBOY-TV confirm a road painting crew truck was traveling on the southbound lanes when a car ran into the back of the vehicle. Emergency workers were forced to cut the roof of the car in order to release the trapped passengers.

A HealthNet helicopter landed at the scene to take 1 victim to the hospital, which shut down the southbound lanes and backed up traffic for more than 5 miles that afternoon.

State police are investigating the accident, which called for emergency response from the Anmoore, Bridgeport, Nutter Ford, and Stonewood fire departments as well as the Harrison County and Anmoore EMS.
