Belmont County Car and Tractor Trailer Collision Injures 1

July 25, 2011 - Belmont County, W.Va. - An accident, involving a car and a tractor trailer, left one person injured Sunday night.

WBOY reports that the accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on State Route 7, near U.S Route 470. The car and the tractor trailer crashed into one another on the roadway.

At least one person was injured as a result of this accident. That person was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on the medical condition of the victim.

It has been reported that the tractor trailer and the car were the only vehicles involved in the accident. Whether or not any more people were injured as a result of this accident is unclear.

The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released. Further details concerning how the accident occurred are not available at this time.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
