Bad Boy Buggies Recalled After Reports of Crashes and Injuries

December 28, 2010 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary consumer product recall of nearly 10,000 off-road vehicles because of a danger of unintended acceleration.

According to FOX10tv.com, the safety recall includes 9,300 Classic Buggies off-road utility vehicles manufactured and distributed by Bad Boy Enterprises LLC, which was recently purchased by BB Buggies Inc. The recalled product was manufactured between early 2003 and May 2010.

This most recent recall is the second in connection with the Classic Buggies. It now seems an initial recall in October 2009 failed to address all of the safety concerns in association with these vehicles. In fact, since the first recall, the manufacturer has received 27 complaints from consumers about issues of unexpected or unintended acceleration, presenting a serious danger both to passengers and any bystanders in the area. There have even been instances of consumer injury, including arm and leg fractures.

Included in the current recall are all Bad Boy Classic off-road utility vehicles in camouflage, hunter green, red or black. Not included in the off-road vehicle recall is the XT model.

The recalled vehicles were sold at dealers between 2003 and June 2010 for roughly $10,000. If you have purchased one of the recalled Bad Boy Classic off-road vehicles, immediately cease use and contact the dealer closest to you for instructions on how to obtain a free repair.
