WSAZ reports that the accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 64, near the West 17th Street exit. According to witnesses at the scene, a truck was stopped in the center of the interstate when a car struck it from behind. At least one of the vehicles overturned and both were on the median when officials arrived on the scene.
The accident report states that 2 people in the car and another in the truck were injured in the accident. All 3 had to be transported to a nearby hospital immediately following the crash. The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time. The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.
There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in relation with this incident.
