WSAZ reports that the collision occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 64, near the Scott Depot exit. According to emergency crews, a maroon pickup truck was travelling in the eastbound lanes of the interstate when it slowed for backed up traffic at a construction area.
A red car behind the truck failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of the pickup truck. The pickup truck then hit the median wall before striking a white pickup truck.
Reports indicate that 2 people in the maroon pickup truck and a person in the car were injured in the crash. All 3 victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
No one in the white pickup truck was reported injured.
There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this accident.
