April 14, 2011 - Morgantown, W.Va. - A Morgantown car accident involving a police vehicle sent 3 people to the hospital Tuesday.
WBOY reports that the accident happened at the intersection of University Avenue and Patterson Drive in Morgantown. According to officials, the West Virginia University police officers were responding to a call at the time of the accident. The police vehicle's lights and sirens were on when it collided with a second vehicle.
The two WVU police officers and one other person were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital immediately following the accident. The medical conditions of the injured people are unknown at this time.
The identities of those involved in the Morgantown car accident have not yet been released.
The WVU police vehicle and one other car were the only vehicles involved in the accident. There were no further injuries.
The cause of the accident remains to be determined. The accident is under ongoing investigation by the Morgantown Police Department.
