December 5, 2011 – Nitro, W.Va. – A car accident at an intersection on Friday, December 2, sent 3 people to the hospital for medical attention.
According to an accident report on WSAZ the collision happened at about 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Cross Lanes Drive and 40th Street, which involved a truck and a Jeep. The reason behind the cause of the accident has not yet been discovered.
Reports indicate that 2 of the truck’s occupants and the driver of the Jeep were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The medical condition of each victim is unknown, but officials on the scene said that they expect all 3 to be OK. The victims’ identities have not yet been revealed.
The intersection was blocked to traffic for a period of time following the accident while emergency response crews worked to clean the scene. The accident is under investigation by local authorities.
