WSAZ reports that the accident happened at about 12:35 p.m. on the 35th Street Bridge at MacCorkle Avenue when 2 cars collided in the intersection. Further details of how the incident occurred are not yet available.
There has been no word on how many people were injured in the accident. The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released. So far, no charges have been filed in connection with this accident.
The roadway was closed for nearly an hour following the crash. Wreckers were on the scene and emergency crews cleared the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.
