2 Injured After ATV Overturns in Mon County

June 17, 2011 - Mon County, W.Va. - An ATV accident in Mon County left 2 people injured Wednesday night.

WDTV reports that the accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on an ATV trail in the Brown Chapel Road area close to the Paradise Lake golf course. The ATV went out of control and overturned on the trail.

The 2 people who were injured in the accident were the driver of the ATV, Randy Yost, and his passenger, who has not been identified. They were both transported to a local hospital for treatment but are said to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The ATV was the only vehicle involved in the accident and no further injuries have been reported in connection with this crash.

The cause of the accident has not been resolved as the accident is still under further investigations by deputies of the Mon County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
