April 10, 2011 - Salem, W.Va. - One man and 3 children were injured Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Harrison County.
WBOY reports that the accident happened on Old Route 50 in Salem. The minivan was driving eastbound on the roadway when its driver lost control of the vehicle. The minivan struck a telephone pole and crashed against a guard rail before it came to a stop.
Four people were injured in the accident. Three of the injured were children. The driver and two of the children were taken to United Hospital Center immediately following the accident. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
A 6-year-old passenger was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital via HealthNet. The child is said to have suffered leg injuries.
The minivan was the only vehicle involved in the accident. There were no further injuries.
The identities of those involved in the crash in Harrison County have not yet been released.
The cause of the accident remains to be determined. The single-vehicle accident is under ongoing investigation.
