June 10, 2011 - Hepzibah, W.Va. - A single-vehicle wreck in Hepzibah sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.
WDTV reports that the accident happened shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday on Route 19 in Harrison County. According to sheriff's deputies, Louis Talerico Jr., 83, was driving his car on Route 19 when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then crashed into a nearby ditch.
Talerico was badly injured in the accident and had to be flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Deputies of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department said that a medical condition may have caused Talerico to lose control of his vehicle. This has not yet been confirmed.
No further injuries have been reported in connection with the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.
