Wrongful Death Case - Psychiatric Malpractice

Settlement in a wrongful death case against the state of West Virginia arising from medical (psychiatric) malpractice in which a patient at a state owned and operated psychiatric hospital was released from care and, within a week, committed an act of murder/suicide when he stabbed and killed his estranged wife and daughter, attempted to murder his son, and later committed suicide. Maximum recovery allowable by law was received from the state of West Virginia's insurance policy.
