Truck Driver Seriously Injured in Charleston Truck Accident

July 29, 2010 - Charleston, W. Va. - A truck driver has been injured in a truck crash near the intersection of Cantley Drive.

WSAZ reports that the accident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Corridor G in Charleston, when the truck crashed into a light post. The driver was seriously injured and the light post was knocked over.

The driver's condition at this time is unknown. The Charleston truck accident caused significant traffic backups in the area.

Several emergency crews responded to the accident. The crash remains under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
