Several Injured When At Least 5 Cars Crash in Huntington

January 5, 2011 - Huntington, W.Va. - Several people were taken to the hospital Monday when at least 5 cars collided in Huntington.

WBOY reports that the accident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Monday close to the intersection of Route 60 and Washington Boulevard in Cabell County. Dispatchers with Cabell County 911 stated that at least 5 cars crashed into one another on the roadway.

A couple of people involved in the accident had to be transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital immediately following the crash. The medical condition of those people is unknown at this time. The specific number of people injured is also unavailable.

The identities of those involved in the crash are yet to be released.

The cause of the accident remains to be determined. The crash is under ongoing investigation by authorities in the area.

Traffic on Route 60 was backed up for some time following the accident.
