Police Investigating 2-Vehicle Injury Accident in Harrison County

November 11, 2010 - Harrison County, W.Va. - One person had to be flown to the hospital following an accident in Harrison County Wednesday morning.

WDTV reports that the crash occurred at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on Rockford Road in Lost Creek. According to officials, the vehicle accident involved a roadway collision between a truck and a passenger car.

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital via HealthNet immediately following the accident. The medical condition of this person is unknown at this time.

The driver of the car escaped with only minor injuries and was not sent to the hospital.

The identities of those involved in the Harrison County crash have not yet been released.

According to officials from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, the cause of the accident remains unknown. The crash is under ongoing investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 356 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
