Pedestrian Struck by Car near CAMC Hospital in Charleston

November 19, 2010 - Charleston, W.Va. - One man was sent to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Charleston.

The Charleston Gazette reports that the accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on MacCorkle Avenue in front of CAMC Memorial Hospital. The man was walking across the street when the vehicle struck him.

The man was injured and taken into CAMC Memorial Hospital for treatment. There is no word concerning the seriousness of the man's injuries.

Authorities stated that the man was on his way to work at the hospital at the time of the accident.

The name and age of the pedestrian victim are yet to be released. The identity of the person who struck him, as well as the make of that person's vehicle, is also unavailable at this time.

Whether or not charges will be filed in connection with the pedestrian accident is yet to be determined.

The accident is under continued investigations.
