No Charges Filed in Connection With Pedestrian Accident in North Charleston

February 18, 2011 - North Charleston, W.Va. - One person was sent to the hospital Monday morning after suffering injury in a pedestrian accident in North Charleston.

WSAZ reports that the pedestrian accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. Monday along 7th Avenue in North Charleston. Kanawha County 911 dispatchers stated that the accident was on the 2300 block of 7th Avenue.

According to Charleston Police, Deenia Burno, 19, was attempting to walk across the street when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Burno received injuries to her head, neck and hip areas. Investigators said she is expected to recover from the injuries sustained in the pedestrian accident.

The identity of the driver of the vehicle that struck Burno has not yet been released.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident. There were no further injuries reported.

According to police, no charges had been filed in connection with the pedestrian accident in North Charleston as of Monday afternoon. No charges are expected to be filed.
