Man Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident in Randolph County

Sept. 2, 2010 - Randolph County, W. Va. - One pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car in Randolph County.

WDTV reports that the accident occurred at about 12 p.m. Tuesday on Ward Road. Pedestrian victim Franklin McCauley was walking along the roadway, close to the intersection at Wal-Mart, when he was struck by a Ford Escape that was attempting to make a left turn onto Ward Road.

There is currently no additional information about McCauley's medical condition. He was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by helicopter immediately following the accident.

The pedestrian accident remains under investigation by State Police. The investigations have a required a full reconstruction of the accident that had police on the scene for several hours.

No further details concerning the accident are available at this time.
