Driver May Have Been Ejected During Wayne County Accident on U.S. 52

October 13, 2010 - Wayne County, W.Va. - A car accident in Wayne County sent one person to the hospital Friday morning.

WSAZ reports that the accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday on U.S. 52, close to Prichard. According to dispatchers, a car was driving on the interstate when it veered off the roadway. The vehicle then crashed onto the railroad tracks.

The driver of the car was injured in the crash. The injured driver was transported to a hospital in Huntington. The medical condition of this person is unknown at this time.

There was only one vehicle involved in the accident. Only one person was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and no others were injured in the crash.

Further details concerning the nature of the crash and the cause of the crash are unknown. However, initial reports stated that the driver may have been ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
