Driver Injured When Semi-Truck Overturns in Kenova

October 20, 2010 - Kenova, W.Va. - One person was transported to the hospital Tuesday morning following a semi-truck crash near Kenova.

WSAZ reports that the truck accident happened just after 11 a.m. Tuesday close to the intersection of Route 75 and U.S. 52. The semi-truck, from Calgon Carbon, overturned in a grassy area beside the busy intersection.

The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital and is said to have suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the truck rollover and there were no further injuries. The contents of the tanker section of the semi remained within the tanker after the accident.

At this time, officials have given no word concerning the cause of the crash. The truck accident remains under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
