October 15, 2010 - Harrison County, W.Va. - An accident on Interstate 79 left one man injured Thursday morning.
WDTV reports that the crash happened just before 6:00 a.m. Thursday close to the 114 mile marker in Harrison County. The man was driving his Ford F-150 on I-79 when he appears to have lost control of the vehicle. Investigations have not yet revealed what caused the man to lose control.
The truck then rolled onto the median. The man was thrown from his vehicle during the crash.
The driver of the truck was transported to United Hospital Center in unspecified condition. However, officials have said that his injuries were not life-threatening.
The truck was the only vehicle involved in the I-79 accident and the injured driver of the truck was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The Harrison County Sherriff's Department continues to investigate the accident.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
