Crash Victim Flown to Hospital after Single-Vehicle Accident on Route 151

November 12, 2010 - Ellamore, W.Va. - One person was injured when his vehicle went off of the road in Upshur County Tuesday evening.

WBOY reports that the crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on Route 151 in Upshur County. The Buckhannon man was driving eastbound in his Jeep Cherokee when he evidently lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road. According to Deputy Marshall Powers of the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle then skidded down an embankment and collided with a tree before finally coming to a rest.

The man incurred serious injuries in the crash. He had to be flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

The victim's name and age have not yet been released.

Emergency response crews from Buckhannon, Ellamore, and Upshur County EMS were on the scene in response to the single-vehicle accident.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
