Car Crosses Center Line, Causes Head-on Car Crash in Clendenin

September 30, 2010 - Clendenin, W.Va. - One person was sent to the hospital following a head-on car accident in Kanawha County on Wednesday afternoon.

WBOY reports that the crash occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on Spencer Road in Clendenin. A pickup truck and a smaller gray vehicle crashed into one-another head on. The driver of the truck stated that the smaller car crossed over the center line before hitting his vehicle.

One vehicle ended up in a nearby ditch after the accident. The other came to a stop in a field. Debris from the crash was spread across the road.

One person had to be transported to the hospital. The accident victim's condition is unknown, but his injuries are thought to be non-life-threatening.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
