3 People Hospitalized After 2 SUVs Collide in Huntington Accident

October 12, 2010 - Huntington, W.Va. - Three people have been sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident involving 2 SUVs in Huntington.

WBOY reports that the collision occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Seventh Street and Third Avenue in Huntington. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. Police have reason to believe that one of the SUVs ran a red light.

Three people were injured in the SUV crash. These people were transported to a local hospital immediately following the accident. The medical conditions of these people are unknown at this time.

The identities of the people involved in the accident have not yet been released. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The Huntington accident remains under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
