2 Injured in Early Morning Crash on I-64 Near Institute

October 25, 2010 - Institute, W.Va. - Two people were injured in an early-morning accident on Interstate 64 in Kanawha County.

WBOY reports that the I-64 crash occurred just before 5:15 a.m. Saturday close to the 48 mile marker in the eastbound lanes. Police say two cars collided and that the cause of the car accident has yet to be determined.

According to dispatchers, two people had to be taken to a local hospital immediately following the I-64 crash. The medical condition of these accident victims is unknown at this time.

Authorities have not yet released the names, ages, and/or genders of those involved in the highway accident.

Officials said that the middle and left lanes of I-64 were closed to traffic for some time as crew cleaned up and investigated the accident.

Investigations into the vehicle accident are ongoing.
