1 Woman, 3 Children Injured in Reynoldsville Crash After Car Hits Icy Patch

December 9, 2010 - Harrison County, W.Va.
- Authorities believe icy roadways are to blame for a single-vehicle accident in Reynoldsville on Tuesday that sent 1 woman and 3 children to local hospitals.

WDTV
reports that the weather-related accident occurred on Sardis Road in Reynoldsville. A woman lost control of her vehicle on the roadway. The vehicle then went off the road and into a ditch.

The woman and 3 child passengers in her vehicle incurred injuries in the crash. HealthNet was called to transport the woman and one child to the hospital, but the HealthNet helicopter could not fly due to technical difficulties. All 4 of the injured were then transported by ambulance; 1 to Ruby Memorial Hospital and the other 3 to United Hospital Center.

The identities and medical conditions of those involved in the accident are not available at this time.

The cause of the accident has so far been attributed to ice on the roadway. The accident remains under investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.
