1 Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Route 2 in Mason County

September 14, 2010 - Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va. - A crash between a semi-truck and a smaller vehicle has left one person dead in Mason County.

WBOY reports that the accident occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Monday on W. Va. Route 2 in Gallipolis Ferry when the car and the semi-truck crashed into one-another head on.

One driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Officials have not specified whether the deceased victim was the driver of the semi-truck or of the smaller vehicle. Those details have yet to be released.

Emergency crews shut down Route 2 for several hours while the truck crash area was cleaned up.

No further information concerning the fatal truck accident is available at this time.
