1 Injured in Motorcycle Accident in Ona on U.S. Route 60

August 30, 2010 - Ona, W. Va. - A motorcycle accident in Ona involving a collision between a motorcycle and a larger vehicle has left one person with serious injuries.

WBOY reports that the crash happened at around 1:45 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 60 near Wildwood Way.

At this time, only one person has been confirmed as seriously injured. That person was transported to a local hospital to be treated for accident injuries. As of this blog posting, there was no information about who was injured in the accident and whether the injured party was in the passenger vehicle or on the motorcycle.

Multiple emergency response crews responded to the motorcycle accident and at least one HealthNet Helicopter was on the scene. Further details concerning the crash are yet to be released.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
