1 Hurt in Harrison County Wreck; Driver Flees Accident Scene on Foot

November 17, 2010 - Harrison County, W.Va. - One person was sent to the hospital Friday evening following a hit and run accident in Harrison County.

WDTV reports that the crash occurred at around 6:15 p.m. Friday on Wilsonburg Road in Harrison County. A white car was driving in a way that caused two other vehicles-a red truck and a Jeep-who were traveling in the opposite direction to swerve into the parking lot of a 7-11 convenience store to avoid the oncoming vehicle. The truck was able to avoid a collision. The Jeep, however, was sideswiped by the white car.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to United Hospital Center. The medical condition of this person is unknown. The driver's identity is yet to be released.

The driver of the white car is said to have fled the scene of the hit and run accident on foot. Whether or not police have found this person is unknown at this time.

The hit and run accident remains under investigation.
