1 Hospitalized After Car Accident in Taylor County on Route 250

August 17, 2010 - Taylor County, W. Va. - One person was taken to the hospital after an accident in Taylor
County late Sunday night.

WBOY reports that the crash took place on U.S. Route 250 at around midnight. A vehicle crashed and went over an embankment close to the Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency crews were required to rescue the driver from the car. The driver was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital immediately following the accident. The condition of the driver is unknown.

Little information is available regarding the cause for this crash. The car accident remains under investigation by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2008 West Virginia Crash Statistics show that there were 380 fatalities as a result of car accidents in West Virginia.
